I have the longest nightmare last night
& I'm still in daze

My mind is totally cranky
& I cant think straight

I just feel like puking all the time

In fear that I will forget them once the flood gate opens

So everything is spinning in my mind

DarDar isnt helping much

The itinerary for the Taiwan trip is making me nuts

Why am I always doing unnecessary things?

It's been 5th day of 2010
I am procrastinating
AGAIN!

Should be working on my report
But just didnt have the mood to do so
Coz I'm worried about my progress that is now dangling in my Prof's hands
I've yet received comments of my draft that I'd sent her 3 weeks ago!
Neither have I gotten her approval to allow me to buy my air-ticket to Hong Kong
Which is also delaying my whole plan to start my experiment overseas
Not yet informed the other party
Not yet booked rooms in lab
Not yet get them prepare materials
Not yet this not yet that
All because it's jammed up
& I'm really losing my patience
Coz time is running out!

I may be rude
But seriously
The one who delays the process due to their selfishness is the fault of ultimate failure

Cant really say I didnt have the mood to do my report
It's just that
I have no idea how to start
Everything seems so connected
& it's even harder for me to separate them out into chapters
But I'll see to that

So the whole of today
I was searching for info needed for my Taiwan trip in May 2010
Just bought the air-ticket
DarDar said it is $50 cheaper than he previously checked

Now that we've our tickets
We're planning our exploration routes

Taiwan is really damn fucking BIG!

Due to time constraint
We decided to stick to the upper part of Taiwan
Traveling from Taipei, to Hualien, to Taichung & back Taipei
A triangular route across the land

We'd found nice homestays in Hualien
& things to do & see while we're there
However
As we're planning our trip to Taichung
We have terrible headaches

DarDar is dying to go to the hotsprings
Surrounded by nice mountain scenery & cool atmosphere
& I managed to find one that is highly recommended

Because that hotspring is directly in between Hualien & Taichung
We thought it will be just great as a stopover
However
I spent the whole day searching for ways to travel from Hualien to Taichung directly
But found none

Only then
I realised that
The only bus route across the mountain had been CLOSED
due to the landslide caused by earthquake since donno-when!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Plan screwed
So pek chek
But I didnt give up
Still trying to find other methods to get there

Worse comes to worse
We may have to travel all the way back to Taipei, down to Taichung & up the mountains
Which I kinda dislike this idea
Coz it's a waste of time, somehow
Going in one big circle

Now we're hesitating if we wanna just stick to traveling on the West Coast of Taiwan
Where transport is more accessible
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.......

I just hope there's an alternative route to go to the hotspring
& stick to my initial plan

Seems like 2010 is starting off pretty well for me

DarDar headed for his first fishing competition of 2010
& won the first prize!
He's the winner of the big catch race with a 6.3kg sea bass

It's so huge that it took us 1 hour to completely chop up the fish to fill our freezer

I intended to start working on my report yesterday
But went off play Wii the whole day
Now my whole body was aching from head to toe

Went out with Seh Chin & Lionel for supper in JB
We tried something new, other than the usual wanton mee stall
So we went to Kim Do to have satays

The satay was average but it was the chilli sauce that scores
DarDar couldnt resist the 'shiokness' from the spiciness & went to order another 5 more sticks on top of the existing 10 sticks

We also ordered their signature dish - Golden crab to share
Which is actually Salted Egg crab
It is delicious to max!!!

Lionel suddenly felt like eating Frog Legs with Chicken essence
The most potent dish of the meal

If anyone was free to take picture of me eating
I guess I will look exactly like Seh Chin busy eating the crab
Its pincers are as big as 3/4 of my palm!!!!

It was a great supper
& all of us think it was a great start to 2010
With DarDar winning the race
& had such wonderful meal

We chit-chatted for another hour at White Town Coffee
& reached home at 3am
Which I was completely dropped dead after 2 nights of late night sleep

Tomorrow will be the last day to nua
& after that
Full gear ahead

I think better finish updating the things I did for the last few days of 2009
& not procrastinate it into 2010

The next day after we returned from Sabah
We were invited by Michelle & Gerald to their chalet in P. Ubin
Coincidentally
It was at the same chalet that we had for my birthday celebration! =D

Michelle's brother, Deschamp, had his first trip to P. Ubin
& he was all so excited

We spent the day 'crabbing'
The laziest way to fish, by the way

Half-way through
It started pouring heavily for an hour
But after that
We saw the most beautiful rainbow ever!
At closer look
It was a triple rainbow!
There was one directly on top of the prominent one & another very faint one extending next to it

Michelle said this is extremely rare

At evening
Sean joined us for the chalet & we had BBQ dinner

Despite my tummy was still recovering from excessive excretion since the Sabah trip
I was eating very slow & very careful not to trigger the 'diahorrea button'
& all night long was a perfect gathering session

This over-stay was indeed so much better than previous one
I so love my darlings to bits

It was New Year's Eve
The Coyotes met up to have a Wii session at Jas' house
Sadly, however
Both Weiling & I were down with flu
& almost couldnt make it with our constant flow of mucus
But luckily
We were both better on the actual day

Jas' house is so nice!
I love her full-glass window
& view that is not blocked by other flats
Living on high levels like these is something I've been dreaming of

Jas had almost all the Wii gadgets
& we really had lotsa fun!

That's another year, everyone

Although I'm seriously not very enthusiastic about it
(which in the more pessimistic terms, it means it's another year closer to old age & death,etc)
I'm really glad to be blessed with good friends that stand by me as I think back

So many things had passed
& new experiences gained
New lessons learnt
& new opportunity received

After much delay
I'm glad I can finally update on my Sabah trip =D

We took the night flight to Kota Kinabalu from Senai
It was a full flight
Having babies & kids screaming & crying next to you is a total hellish trip
But we were all glad to be greeted with supper at 1230am the next day
Arrived at Hotel Promenade at 1am
The lobby is empty & extremely quiet
First time checking in so late

Due to unexpected circumstances
We had to sleep at 2am
& on sofas, instead of beds =(

Next morning
We headed for breakfast
They have this very unique 'fish noodle', which is made of fish
& it's long & chewy like you're eating a super elongated fish ball
The fish soup was delicious too!
DarDar's dad booked 2 taxi to bring us around
It would be too expensive for us to join day tour which cost RMXXX per pax
The taxi only charge us RM$40 per hour, max 6 pax on board
It was approximated that DarDar's dad paid RM$400 per car per day

During the trip, I was thinking to myself that this trip is boring
Because we're not entering jungle to look at monkeys or orang-utan
Neither are we diving into the sea
We're only doing land tours
Sitting in the vehicle all-day long
Looking at scenery of trees & more trees
But I was wrong as the trip went on
Because
I'm going to places that I'd missed out
& enjoyed the trip afterall!

We headed to this Puh Toh Sze
One of the places of interests that any tour guide will bring
& then to one of the popular seaside resort - Nexus Resort
This place is gorgeous!
& the sea is niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
It is the South China Sea by the way

DarDar's cousins & sister having fun on the sand
Wonder what fiddler crab species made these sand-balls
We never fail to capture a photo at the sea-side

We then went for seafood lunch at this restaurant in the mangrove
Yes, MANGROVE!
Loads of flies as we ate the delicious food
The sweeping of flies from our dish added to the challenge
After the sumptuous meal
We rushed to the Crocodile farm to catch the crocodile show
Well
It's kinda like a mini zoo, somehow
Coz they have other animals as well
The park has rhinocerous bettles!
Michelle would love it to bits if she goes!

Our next visit was to Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Nicer than Nexus!
So is the sea at sunset!!!!!!!

My next target is to save enough to spend a week at Shangri-La Rasa Ria

Around evening
We had a short shopping spree at OneBorneo
Sadly the seaworld has yet opened =(
But we tried out archery at RM$8 per game (12 arrows)

In Sabah
One can never skip seafood
DarDar's uncle brought us to this seafood restaurant
He said that anyone who has NEVER eaten here means he has NEVER been to Sabah

This seafood restaurant is cool
I donno where & what it is floating on
But the interior & the cultural performance rocked the whole dinner

After the meal
We headed back to our hotel
Where we stopped by the night market & took a short stroll
Hey
I've not ended
That's only for Day 1!!!

However
Sadly
I could not continue on Day 2
Because I was down with gastroenteritis
Must be too much seafood
& I had diahorrea for the whole day
After every slightest mouthful of food
My anus was sore from the already-quite-smooth tissue paper
All I did was to sleep throughout the day in the hotel
& watched the sunset through the window

Whereas DarDar & the rest of the family members went to Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Spring =(
DarDar said I didnt missed out much coz Poring Hot Spring looks exactly like photos taken in brochures
Not that fascinating
& Kinabalu park was just the starting point where we climbed Mount Kinabalu in May 2009
Plus the 3 hours car ride per way
That trip could be extremely hellish if I'd joined

Anyway
Here're some of the photos that DarDar took on the trip

Nonetheless
With my stomach getting slightly better at night
I joined them for dinner
But I didnt eat much
Fancy they even ordered Peking Roasted Duck to make me salivate =(

We returned to our hotel for Xmas countdown
& went to the lounge that offered us free welcome drinks
The trio was great
But was shocked when they stopped singing at 1145pm
!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not counting down Xmas with your audience?!

Best companion by your side is the greatest moment in the life

I was 60% well on Day 3, which also marked the last day of the trip
Luckily
Although my stomach was still not as co-operative as before
At least I could still gobbled some dim-sum to replenish all the lost energy into the toilet bowl!

Our flight was in the afternoon
So it left us a few more hours to do some shopping

At 330pm
AirAsia welcomed us back home
Good Bye Sabah!

I was sick since my Sabah trip
& is not getting better

Havent been updating as regularly as i used to be
Because I'm out of the house most of the time
THIS MONTH!

I always love December
It's my birthday month when I can use my birthday privileges & offers endlessly
& it's also Christmas month which the atmosphere smells of fun & celebration
Who cares about hard effort work?!

Sadly
I still had to produce several reports to show my supervisor that I was not slacking

Well
4 out of 7 days were for play-time
2.5 out of 3 days were for fun meals
Remaining 0.5 days for the report

Just how amazing I could come up with a proper draft within a day

Not boasting
I do have lotsa readings to be done, in fact
Still lagging behind because I'm facing doubts in my conclusion currently
Needa resolve it all before proceeding

On top of that
I needa prepare my experiments that are to take place in Hong Kong for 2 months
=3
I couldnt survive 1 week in Hong Kong without my DarDar anymore
Least say 2 months!

Today is a long day
I met Tzu to visit BlueBay as she wanted to look at the wedding shoot package

Initially
I was abit hesitating coz I'm not sure to agree to the package or not
I'm very happy-go-lucky as long as I find it affordable, nice & worth
But I didnt wanna straight away agree to signing the package
& of course I'd like to hear DarDar's opinion too
Surprisingly
DarDar agreed to it without asking if I want it or not

WAH!

Ok lor
Since he said yes, then yes loh!!
Heehee

In the end
We bought the package at SGD$2280
Which include damn helluva lots of freebies
Best of all
The package includes 2 night stays at a 4* hotel in Taipei
Which kinda save some of the cost for our journey
As we are planning to extend our 'holiday' & explore the rest of the country
=)

May 2010 is gonna be real busy
We're taking shots with 2 bridal studios
I hope it will be a perfect journey

Went back to JB over the weekend
I already had my to-do list for that day but only 2 tasks were completed
Didnt manage to cut hair coz the salon was crowded!

My messy hair till next week

On Sunday
I followed DarDar to visit his maternal grandfather
& I love visiting his backyard where it is grown full of vegetables

DarDar's mum & his aunt were busy plucking leaves of this particular tree
Which they claimed that this tree is a vegetable instead
That's weird!

A short tour in DarDar's grandfather's backyard

DarDar's grandfather also harvested tapioca
& we had tapioca soup for dessert!

It's fun being able to pluck vegetables straight from the backyard
You'll never miss a meal without vegetable
& some more
Fresh vegetables make the best dish
Just like how Jamie Oliver plucks his herbs from his backyard

Gardening is fun
I'm growing bittergourd too, by the way
It's flowering & I could see some fruits too!
I hope I can harvest my 1st grown bittergourd soon

Frankly speaking
Gardening releases one from stress in the hectic life
My Animal Behaviour lecturer is an avid gardener
& he recommends me to this shop where it sells seeds at wholesale price
I've yet to go coz it's quite a distance
But if I were to visit
I'm afraid my whole corridor will be a plantation!

I'm glad that I sorta have a gathering with friends whom I haven met for long
& thanks everyone who came

I was so happy she came! >_<

We went cycling at Ketem & to Chek Jawa

& of course, not missing out DarDar's favourite activity - Fishing!

Although there was so unpleasant incidents with impolite teenagers

DarDar called his brother & his gf over
Who called upon 2 extra friends in afternoon
& another 2 friends at evening
But none said Hi to me, including my brother-in-law & his gf
Took my chalet celebration as if it's was their chalet gathering
I only have 2 friends while they have 5 friends
Showed minimal respect
Made a helluva noises at wee hours
& got drunk after I warned them about not getting drunk
Worst
None said 'Thank you' to me after the end of the day

I was pissed

Even my students said 'Thank you' to me after their 3-hour excursion with me

DarDar was disappointed with his brother too
Didnt expect this to turn out
Instead of giving me a celebration
It appeared that they're enjoying among themselves

FOR FREE!

I think this experience of birthday celebration at chalet is only once in the lifetime
We guess there wont be anymore
To minimise unpleasantness at the end of the day

& even if we are going to have another one
It is only for good, close friends

Just returned from dinner with my Coyotes at Iluma
We had The Asian Kitchen coz I was craving for the Hot & Spicy soup

After catching up during the meal
We walked about Iluma
Headed up to the top level
& I saw Chef Daniel!

Sorry that I didnt have his photos coz I wasnt ready to snap his photo
I waved to him
He smiled & waved back to me!
Hohohohoho

He looked more handsome in person
Than in photos or on TV!

Oh by the way
He has a restuarant at the top level known as Chef Daniel's KitchenFood looks nice from the menu
Maybe I'll pop by to try one day
The price is reasonable
& I guess there's nothing to lose since food is cooked by top chef!

& Lionel & Seh Chin drove us over to Changi Village
The carpark was full
Took us 20mins to get a lot

As we were reversing
A guy came over & stood in it
Calling his friend over the phone to park at the lot we are reversing

All of us were pissed
& Dardar got off the car to tell him off
Instead the guy replied us asking why he cannot book the lot

We went to the other side to look for other lots
Just then
5 families came to the carpark
& told us that they are leaving

I got down of the car with Dardar as we waited for Seh Chin to park his car properly

The parking lot snatcher came over & pointed a lot to us

Claimed themselves gentlemen,that's why come over to 'act' kind

I wasnt happy all along
I showed him the finger

Under my nose

I was 'digging' my nose with my middle-finger

I always use my mid-finger to rub eyes & play my lips
The outstanding longest finger is not merely used for the well-known action!
Its existence must not be ignored!

The carpark snatcher told his friend that i pointed the finger at them
& i denied saying i was only digging my nose with middle-finger &

The 2 guys got agitated & wanted to hit me
Dardar & Lionel stoppped them

They're resting next to each other...

Coz it always gives us the lonely look
Plus the fact that guinea pigs are social animals
The more we agree to get Mong Mong a companion

We bought a sheltie boar
We put them together to see if they will socialise
The sheltie keep chasing Mong Mong to play with him
But Mong Mong kept grumbling in anger
Non-stop

Mong Mong came out of the house to roam around the living room
Baby sheltie followed
It seems to be having fun
But Mong Mong was irritated by his follows
& turned around wanting to bite it

Gave a shock to all of us

After a 3 hour's introduction
We had to separate the 2 boars

We concluded that Mong Mong is an anti-social guinea pig
The autistic character of the social animals

p/s: we've yet thought of a name for the new cavy. Mum is being very old-fashion to wanting to call it something related to fortune & wealth like 4D, Wang Lai (旺來), Lai Fa（來發, etc. *rolls eyes* Any suggestions?

Went P. Ubin in the end after much hesitation about the weather
But my gastric was playing against me while on the way
It was just horrible

Despite the pain
DarDar & I cycled the whole island still
Almost fainted while struggling to get up a steep slope near Maman en route Chek Jawa
& my first visit to Ketam bike park

Not that scary as I expected
As in
I'd always thought that Ketam bike park is for professional stunt bikers
But my experience today proved me not

I'd love to go back next week
That place is beautiful

But the weather isnt cooperating
Looks gloomy & prone to downpour

NEA website showed that rain did fall over the island

It's been long since I'd last fallen sick
& I cant remember how to take care of myself other than sleeping

DarDar told me to drink more water
& I hate drinking water coz it's tasteless (yes, weird habit)
So I made honey water, chrysanthemum tea with honey, watery porridge & hot water with egg for the morning
& I found out that I shouldnt be eating all these
According to some medical help sites googled online

I scooped half bowl of Mango & Passionfruit Haagen-Daz to eat
Hoping it can subside the fever
& drank half glass of orange juice

I'm so bloated with liquids
The fruity taste lingers in my mouth
Which I believe it's good thing since being sick always make one feel tasteless

Brother is returning home from P. Tekong tonight
& he wishes to eat Botak Jones or pizza

Went JB this afternoon for Japanese buffet

Everything from the menu was free to order
& dishes include these (sorry for the poor quality coz I forgot to bring my camera!)

'Whacked' for 1.5hours

The food we ordered would cost alot if we were at Sakae Sushi
& it will cost us almost $100 without doubt
BUT
It only costs us RM$33.90 per pax
Which is equivalent to SGD$16+
For all the food we ate!

The baked hotate was bravo
So were the maki
In fact all were just nice lah!

All of us would love to return for another meal one day

Unfortunately
I was back Singapore sick with cold & fever
Probably the air con was too cold during our movies watching 2012

DarDar brought me out today!
After I scolded him & cried till he felt guilty yesterday
& we went to SPCA as we'd planned last week
I think my last visit was 13 years ago

The dogs were so pitiful =(They were barking happily when visitors stood outside their cages

They have 2 huskies in the shelter
Wanted to go play with them so badly
But I'm afraid they will attack me if I enter
& they do not allow the dogs out of their cages
I love husky to bits
Too bad it's not HDB approved
I swear I will get a husky when I have a house
A big house

There are other usual abandoned animals as well
Cats, rabbits, guinea pigs & hamsters

Took our 1st ride on the Circle Line to town
There's no one operating the train!
How swaku I was to know that it works automatically like LRT =p

We checked out Orchard Central
Nothing much to shop, seriously
The only place that fascinated us was the Roof Garden

Went to Takashimaya & saw Mr Bump dancing with his friends
Went to Louis Vuitton @ ION to look for Queenie
& also tempted to buy a pouch or wallet since DarDar said he's gonna give me one

We bought Jagabee & Jagarico from Isetan too =D
We were so lousy
Walked for only half a day & our legs were wobbly

I am in love with today
Absolutely
The Leonid meteor failed me though
Couldnt see due to thick clouds
& on top of that
I actually fell back asleep after I'd put on my spectacles
LOL

Woke up at 10am
Went for suntan & a short swim
Slightly tanned
Sun was gone 20mins later =(

Went to Old Woodlands Centre
Had lunch
& bought some veggies
& returned home to cook

We invited Lionel & Seh Chin over

Stir-fry dou miao with scallop,corn & straw mushroom
Buffalo wings
Beer crab

Had a short mahjong session after the meal
My first time playing
& so was Mong Mong

It's such a wonderful night
Although it's short
It'd be nice to have such dinner gathering more often =)

As well as my brother's POP day
I hope he can pass his IPPT

Prof told me that my grant has been approved
The full sum for my proteomics, which cost SGD$10000+ will be awarded soon
Which means I have to prepare my 3-month departure to Hong Kong in January 2010
Hmmmmm....
I'm so gonna miss my DarDar & Mong Mong since I'll be away alone

My friends are all going for holidays!
What am I sitting here on my bed in Singapore?!
