You know I talking on phone cant scold you go drive very fierce lah?" BWHAHAHAHAHAHA But hor Big boss instructor also very funny Coz he owns several cars with car plate number 9X5X & there was 3 of these 9X5X cars on the road In same lane Doing U-turn & I laughed It was such a funny sight ok! Machiam convoy!! But with L-plates Then after the U-turn All 3 cars headed straight ahead In front of us 3 was a BBDC car The 1st car accelerated & overtook Then I accelerated & overtook The 3rd car sadly didnt join the game Me & Big Boss Instructor laughed until buay tahan Machiam pai-kias on the road & we imagined the scenario of that BBDC learner Sweating profusely Challenged by Ah Beng & Ah Lian (aka me) BWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHHA Dong ta buay diao Big Boss Instructor very rich worrrrr Bought Subaru WRX worrrrr I exclaimed"REALLY?! I WANT I WANT!" He:"After you pass I let you drive loh" WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH >_< >_< Big Boss Instructor taught me how to overtake Asked me to step hard on the accelerator & so I did He said not enough So I stepped harder Till I hit 90km/hr BWHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA Shiok ok!! From 1st lane to 3rd lane back to 2nd lane Then I said:"Oi, ai si ah? Later people taught I siao. Overtake here & there" & he just giggled the whole 2hr lesson -_- Damn funny I love my Big Boss Instructor As much as I love my Er Ge & my DarDar Hoho So after my lesson I rushed all the way down to ADEX with DarDar  MY GODI was running about like crazy Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo many dive related things to check out Met several people Like Roy, Martin & Tze Yau I took alot of brochures Really alot So much that I dont think I'll have time to read them all until Vesak Day Sadly Only could stayed for 2 hours & we left DarDar blamed me for making him 'gian' to go diving Which he also wanted to dive years ago But as always Ghost of procrastination never fails anyone Except me Heehee Headed back Woodlands to meet Seh Chin & Lionel to talk cock Bah  Next day (aka Sunday 23 April 2006) I returned to ADEX to help out with the BlueWaterVolunteers & I had the Exhibitor Pass that allows me to enter & exit freely Hohoho    Not that bad=) & I met alot of people whom I haven met for ages!!! Like Ivy, Hanpeng, Ria, ChayHoon, Clifford, Esther, Edd, Tze Yau (again) Wahahahahaha So happy It's always nice to have people who share the same interest with you *winks* Scubazoo was there too & I went to look for Simon I was being offered a job interview at Sabah, remember? That allows me to work in Maldives However I have to pay my own expenses to get there So i grabbed this chance to talk to the person-in-charge YES! As planned on Friday Kel P, Andy & I are going biking WOOOHOOO~~ From my house all the way to Bt Timah Nature Reserve Along the mountain bike trail at ZhengHua Park Super tiring Alot of slopes Fallen trees Mud puddles I'm one helluva dangerous biker Coz my bike has no brakes! & my tyres are wearing out! & I fell down again while going to Shell station to pump tyre Kel P was blocking my path & I couldnt brake! So buang loh! & Kel P never catched me fall Instead he catched his bike -_- The track to Bt Timah Nature Reserve is wonderful First time I get so close with the terrestrial nature Most of the time with marine I saw monkeys I saw orioles I saw drugeons I saw many cool birds =) Best of all I see freshwater streams Which reminds me of my freshwater ecology All the Ephemeroptera, Odonata, Simuliidae, etc With leaf litter input to provide FPOM (fine particulate organic matter) & I thought streams never exist in Singapore! My god! & I ever kept pestering my friends go Kota Tinggi see waterfall Bwhahahaha Kel P wanna drink the water from the stream & I told him if he doesnt mind nymphs hatching in his body Leech crawling out of his face He can go ahead =X         After 3 hoursWe reached the visitor centre of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve  Just as I was going down the slopeI lost my balance & leaned against this wooden railing & something poked me real hard I looked at it & whinned very loudly I WAS STUNG BY A CATERPILLAR!!! Lotsa debates on the proposed Marine Reserve have been going on Committee from different organisations have been bombarding the board on untrue facts & I was pretty amused by what was going on Although I was unable to attend any of those meetings The most recent one was done last night at NSS & was glad that I was very updated with the aftermath I actually emailed JTC requesting to view the EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) report on the reclamation of Pulau Ular last month But work has been tying me down & can never do so to head down to the office I was abit... disappointed, yet feeling ridiculous about the whole thing The EIA repport MUST be read on the spot Cant take out of the office & during office hours Why so? My interest in wanting to read it is that I wanna see how EIA in SG differs that in HK I'm always curious when comparisons are involved Furthermore I'd done my EIA module before, scored A for the project & I'm sure I can pick out flaws from it, if there's any But I dont see why it must be digested there HK gave out EIA reports for free Limited to one upon registration with individual's IC number & the audience can just go home & digest slowly & bring up points for discussion (or rather verbal wars) when a meeting is scheduled Which I believe the panels will then consider these picked-out flaws to improve the situations So why cant we? They claimed that human activities can still go on when their main objective is to protect the habitat & its species Meanwhile, earning extra 'profit' by increasing tourisms This puzzles me A Marine Reserve is a protected area where NO human activites are allowed A Marine Park is an area where conservation still takes place with LIMITED human activities How can you preserve a location, conserve the environment when you expect increase in tourisms that contributes to increased human activities? VERY CHIM AH! Taking the marine reserve of Cape D'aguilar & marine park of Hoi Ha Wan for example Cape D'aguilar does not allow any human activities unless a permit is issued to the individuals No fishing, no collecting of samples, blah blah My marine institue is located there & I'm NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO STEP BEYOND THE INTERTIDAL LEVEL TO OBSERVE MY STUPID CELLANA GRATA! Bloody hell made me go to the exposed Shek O where waves came clashing on me DUHZ! Dr Andrew Cornish showed us his thesis on fish conservation between these 2 places Number of fishes increases significantly in the reserve than in the park Sizes are also significantly larger Another point to add in Hoi Ha Wan was deposited with AR (artifical reefs) to hopefully provide more habitats for the fishes, hoping to increase number of species This, however, is insignificant Bringing back these issues What the newly Marine Reserve is to be built in Singapore might not work Coz It doesnt have a definite answer to what they want to do Reserve or Park? No human activites at all or increase tourisms? When artifical reef proves no significance in the increase of species Forget it Now this Pulau Hantu thing is really getting interesting Proving how noobs these people are 'trying' to conserve when their objectives & information of baseline surveys are doubtful HELLO HELLO? It was a 2-3 hours drive Self-entertainment was very welcomed

KTV with a very pathetic small TV & lousy pirated VCDs Which made us unable to sing coz we'll all go "Wo yao yi (yi yi yi yi yi yi) shou da fan (fan fan fan fan) zi..." - Stefanie's song -_-"  Equipped with mahjong accessories  I donno do what lehCoz donno how to play mahjong & dont wanna sing So I snapped on the bed  *giggles*I then explored the area How I love to live next to the sea  *sniff salty air*Plus the fact that it's rural It was very very carefree Kel P then brought out his fishing equipment Wooohooo~~ & he taught me, Seh Chin & Andy how to fish    & Andy caught his first fish! *claps claps*At around late noon We went for a boat trip to the kelongs Woooooooooo My another favourite But actually, in fact This whole trip consists all my favourite components because it is so MARINE! Lionel, Kel P, me & Ivan      The kelong reminded me of my Mariculture field trip in Hong Kong But the kelong was quite 'abandoned' Or maybe they didnt really introduced much to us Other than showing us some big grouper, promfrets, snapper, horseshoe crab, pufferfish & archerfish But what amazed me most is... Dried porcupine fishs!  Back to mainland for dinner at 530pm Abit early But since everyone had almost used up 70% of their energy playing We gulped down almost everything Sunset was perfect when we got back  While we slacked around with Heineken & Tiger, together with Marlboro & Dunhill The boss came over & told us we'll be having our BBQ at 830pmAndy exclaimed "12pm ate lunch, 5pm ate dinner, 830pm eat BBQ?!?! Come Kukup feed 'pig' isit?" BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Mind you Andy is the 'most horizontal' guy among us & so we all replied "The boss knows you very well mahhhh" Our feast continued     Our night never endedWe went on to play the illegal things that Singapore forbids EXPLOSIVES!    *click video see* It was already 1230am when we finished the whole load of explosives & most of them were tired & they went to bed early Leaving me & Kel P alone under the dark sky full of beautiful blue stars To fish My virgin overnight fishing We fished from high tide to low tide About 4 hours & we caught 2 bottom dwellers! An unidentified fish (someone please help me identify)  & a catfish The catfish was damn big loh!Kel P's rod almost snapped & I had to help him hold the rod while he pulled the line up That unidentified vertebrate puzzled me & Kel P Alot of assumptions were made in order to identify It has spines at its dorsal & pectoral fins - catfish family? It has barbels - same as above It has extra anal fins - cant think of any It has adipose fins - salmon family? It has tapetum lucidum - night active fish It has smooth shiny skin - Placoid scales like sharks? Or no scales like rabbitfish It secrets mucus - ????????????????? Since it was ugly I shall call it the 'Ugly fish' meanwhile I figure out what the hell that alien is Boy was it fun! The thrill of expecting the unexpected outta the unseeable depth is way COOL! It was glad to have someone who likes fishes So conversations wasnt dry over the hours & I learnt alot about fishing from Kel P =) Amitabha to the innocents  We removed the possibly venomous spines& kept the bodies to show Andy we caught BIG fishes In comparison to his tiny fish As he kept teasing us 'fools' staying awake in absence of nicotine (Ran out of those coz we over-puffed without realization) At 5+am I buay tahan I concussed as soon as I landed on the queen-sized mattress Kel P woke me up at 8am To have breakfast *rubs eyes, stretched body* Day break was also very nice! The egrets from Pulau Kukup RAMSAR flew over to feed  & mudskippers crawled out of their burrowsLast minute shopping for local delights Bought alot of keropoks! =D & we left for lunch at a country club  & highlight of the dishesBLACK PEPPER CRAB!  Finger-licking good SHIOK!Andy, Lionel, me & Seh Chin  Our trip included our last destination to ANY shopping mall for a short shopping spree& we went to Jusco Somewhere near Pasir Gudang, or whereever VERY BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Size of 3 Suntec(s)!  Best part?They have its very own ROXY shop!!  Wooohooo~Totally shagged out Slight traffic jam at Malaysia custom But major human jam at SG custom Coz someone had a fight with the police & everyone was told not to leave the place Even the drug-sniffing German Shepherd was on duty Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... The sight of SG never looks good to me on Sunday Coz Monday needa work SHUCKS But anyway I like Kukup! & It's really fun If you're into marine activities or interests Best of all It's with a group of good friends who can play together *thumbs up* BRAVO! | |||
